Version 6.2 Fixed QmeDefault attribute to remove read-only and changed the version number displayed. Version 6.1 Fixed weapons bug from V6. To use, Uninstall any previous version. To do this, go to the Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Run the self extracting file UtilSuiteV6 into a temporary directory. Run the setup.exe program. Run programs from start menu. The carrier will install and you can then run the CarrierFlyBy mission. They are only tested on windows 98se, should work on others. I have one request. I need feedback, good or bad. The more detailed, the better. Please post good comments on simhq.com forum. Bug reports should be emailed to me so I can fix them. pumkindrvr@aol.com Download the Utility Suite V6. It is available at McFly's Hanger. This is a self-extracting file. When you unzip, you will get three files. The setup.exe, setup.lst and either the UtilSuite.cab or the CarrierAddon.cab. Do not try to unzip the cab file. Now just run (double-click) the setup.exe. It will install the program to your computer. The default location is c:\program files\ carrieraddon or utilsuite\. It will let you change that, but I have not tried it. That is all there is to installing. I can't think of anything else to say on that. Once you have installed the program, just go to Start Menu/ Programs/ Utilsuite or carrieraddon and run program. The carrier program only has one button. Click it and the Carrier, Max's F-18, and a FlyBy Mission will be installed. Then exit program, run USAF, Go to single missions and run CarrierFlyBy. This is the proper order to use to prevent problems. 1. Install new plane. 2. Select cockpit. 3. Make weapons available to plane. 4. Load default weapons loadout, same as f16, load can be changed in game, but weapon must be made available first. 5. Add plane to training mission. This plane will have the same loadout as the first plane available in that mission. Again, this loadout can be changed in game, if another weapon is made available first. When you run the program, the first thing you should see is the main page. This is the shot you can see at McFly's Hanger. A Browse For Folder box will open. You must select the correct location for your USAF folder. The program will verify that the admin.ini file is at that location. There are four buttons on the main page. 3D Object Installer. When you click on Install New 3d Object, A new page will open. Here you can select what type you want to install. I used the same buttons as the USAF mission editor for easy understanding. You will notice one button(fighter flight) is missing. When you use the first(Controllabe Plane), it will also be installed as fighter flight. First type in a name for your new object, i.e. F-18. You can call it what ever you want. Now select the type of object you want it to be by clicking one of the buttons with a picture on it. An Open File box will come up. Locate the p3d file you want to use. You can select any new object you have downloaded or any already existing in the game. This allows you to fly anything, helo, tank, etc. You can use a plane p3d as a ground object and use it for a ground target. I used the train track as a building and the train engine as a convoy. Also on the Install New 3d Object page is a button for adding planes to training missions. Just select the mission, then a list of your installed planes will come up. Just select the one you want and it will be added to that mission. You will notice both here and in the USAF Quick Mission Editor, that there are now more planes available like the C-130. This was because in the QME section of the admin file, all planes must be flyable for the new add on planes to show up. All new planes added to a training mission will automatically be given the same loadout as the first plane listed as flyable in that mission. Keep in mind that you must make these weapons available to the new plane with the Weapons Editor. Cockpit Editor All new planes added with the Aircraft Installer use the same Mig 25 cockpit. That way, it will not effect the training missions that use the original pits. When you switch to a new pit, ie f18, all the added planes will have this pit. When you fly a different plane, you need to change the pit to the one you want first. For the Cockpit Switcher to work, you need to make a new folder under Cockpits with the name of your new pit. I tried this with only the 00 and 01 folders under my F14 folder. Nothing showed up in the game. Then I copied another folder(F117), then copied over the 00 and 01 folders with the new F14 and it shows in the game. Weapons editor When you run the weapons editor, you will see three lists. The first is the default F-16 qme/ume weapons loadout. The second is a list of all weapons in the game. The third is a list of flyable planes. If you add a plane using the aircraft installer, it will show up in this list. The reason I used the F-16 loadout was to prevent game crashes. I originaly had it set up so you could make your own default loadout. That resulted in a lot of crashes anytime the game didn't like where you put that weapon. An example of what I am talking about is when you try changing the loadout in the game, it only lets you put weapons at certain stations. Anyway, I used the F-16 just to give it a starting point, but you can modify that by first making the weapon you want to add available to your new plane, then you can change the loadout in the game. How to use: Fisrt, you must add your new plane so it will show up in the plane list. Only weapons from the first box may be made available to a plane. To add weapons to this list, locate the weapon you want from the second box, double click on them, and they will be copied to your list. If you save your list, it will show up when you click on the load button. Select the weapons, select the plane, click make weapons available button. Click the Load Default button. You now have weapons in the qme/ume. Skins Manager The last button is the Skins Manager. You should make a back-up copy of the original before using this. It will over write whatever files you are currently using. Then just select the new files you want to install, select the plane folder to install them and hit the copy button. Hope this helps you guys. Remember, feedback is welcome, good or bad. P
