3D model and skin for the AV-8B Harrier II+
To begin, It is reccomended that you create a ..\USAF\Resource\3DObjects\Controllable_Aircraft\av-8b folder, and place the following files into it:
av-8b_h.P3D
av-8b_m.P3D
av-8b_01.bmp
av-8b_02.bmp
av8bcanopy.TGA
pilot.bmp
Then, to add this model to your USAF game, see McFlys' ADD_A_PLANE tutorial. Furthur, it is suggested that when using the DME, under the BaseObject table, the A-10 data should be copied and used as a template for the AV-8B, and the following values should be used:
DisplayName AV-8B
ObjectSubtype A10
Fuel 7800
BasicOperationWeight 13500
MaxTakeOffWeight 31000
Vulnerability 400
StationsQuantity 6
Also included in the ZIP is an optional edited a10.ATK file, it has been edited only for reduced movement of flaps, ailerons, and elevators. Should you choose to install it, place this file in the ..\USAF\Resource\MD\ folder, overwriting the existing one. Backup your original.
Also included is an optional edited a10tex03.bmp file. This .bmp file is the skins for the "over the shoulder" view. It has been edited by repainting areas with transparency, so you're not looking at green A-10 wings and engines when looking over the shoulder from the AV-8B's 3D cockpit view. The weapons and flaps still appear though, so it is hardly a perfect solution. Should you choose to install it, place this file in the ..\USAF\Resource\Cockpits\a10\3dCockpit\ folder, overwriting the existing one. Backup your original, as this will obviously also affect the A-10's "over the shoulder" 3D cockpit view.
LoadoutAV8B.bmp and LoadoutAV8B.trx files should go in the ..\USAF\Resource\Menu\Bmp\Loadout\Jet folder. These 2 files were prepared by Esquadron 111, and Slikk, Thanks.
Finally, thanks to "Gawl_111" for the excellent USMC AV-8B skin.
