The Maphis SN #007 -
for Ken Sutherland of Staten Island, NY

When I inlay a name, the letters are carefully,
lightly glued in place on the fingerboard. Then
I scribe a line around them, pop off the letters
then accentuate the scribe lines with white
zinc. After that it's just a matter of carefully
routing out the material inside the lines to the
proper depth.

After the letters have been fitted they will be
cemented in place permanently with a black,
plastic epoxy. (not yet completed) and the
fret slots re-cut through the letters.
